Founder of SMART Brain Aging, Dr. John DenBoer, spoke at last Thursday’s TEDx Grand Canyon University and delivered a powerful speech on dementia.

TEDx is known for their motivational talks and Dr. DenBoer’s talk was nothing short of completely inspiring.

Many people are not fully aware of the spread of dementia and how it affects the lives of so many people. Not only do patients suffer, must so do their families and friends. Dementia is expected to rise drastically in the next 20 years and Dr. DenBoer has been on a mission to let people know just how serious the rise of dementia is.

At Grand Canyon University, Dr. Johan DenBoer was able to interact and reach the audience, which was made up mostly of a younger generation, to scare them about the truth of dementia. It could affect them one day, but sooner rather than later, it could affect their parents, grandparents and other loved ones.

Dementia isn’t something people are thinking about, but sadly, it is something that is going to affect the majority of the population greatly in the next decade.Dr. DenBoer was able to grab the audience’s attention and make a huge impact. After the talk, a handful of members from the audience approached.

Dr. DenBoer to thank him for his inspirational talk. Many of them had no idea the affects of dementia and were surprised to know that there are things they can do to help mitigate the onset of dementia and memory loss.

The way Dr. DenBoer resonated with the audience showed through their excitement and encouragement to make a difference in disrupting dementia.
