Making a movie is not joke and requires lot of planning in terms of shoot and also expenses.

Making a movie requires a huge budget and there are many things involved in it, which can be costly too. These items include costumes, objects of destruction, special effects, studio rent etc. Let’s have a look at a few most expensive movies of the year 2014-15.

• Pirates of the Caribbean- At Worlds end: The series if of the year 2007 and is very famous among viewers. People were amazed at the various costumes and the total cost was estimated to be 316.6 million dollars. The film is a complete fiction movie and is based in a theme park ride of Walt Disney. After spending so much of money in making the movie, the box office collection was huge- $960,996,429 approx.

• Cleopatra: this movie released in the year 1963 and was made with a huge budget. This is considered as the second most costly movie of all times. You must be wondering as to how much this movie earned in the box office. Shockingly, this movie was a flop and it proved that just by spending huge amounts of money, the producers and directors cannot make films a super hit. The movie was directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz. Due to the flop, the 20th Century Fox studio almost became bankrupt. Although it did not do well at all in the box office, it received four Academy Awards and was nominated for five more.

• Titanic: everyone must be knowing about this movie. Released in 1997, the movie was made with a huge budget of 272.6 million dollars. Not just that, the movie was a super hit and broke almost all the existing records. The main money was spent on creating the titanic ship so that it would look equal to the unique ill-fated ship. The worldwide collection was a whopping $ 1,842,879,955. The script was written by James Cameron and is a complete fiction story. The movie won 14 Academy Awards including the best picture, best director etc.

• King Kong: This was considered one of the most expensive movies of 2005 and was the remake of a classic movie. Although 231.9 million dollars was spent in making the movie, the movie was not a big hit and managed to earn only a mere $550, 517, 35 worldwide. The story is of filmmaker who travels to a deserted island and meets a giant gorilla. They capture it and bring it to New York where it escapes and starts destroying the city. It won three Academy awards for Best Visual Effect, Sound Mixing and Sound Editing.
