In recent years, drones have been used to hide explosive devices. These are used to ambush soldiers in the battle or as some form of threat from terrorist groups. While drones have ignited terrorists to cause turmoil, similar disruptive events could occur in the coming days, months and decades with the continuous use of UAS.

Rather than becoming an aid to military operations and maintaining the safety of public and private places, drones nowadays have been used as threats in electronic warfare. These may be used to drop off explosives or take opponents down. Drones have also been used to disturb peace and order in airports, stadiums and other crowded places to name a few.

A significant increase in the number of UAS-related incidents have been noted in the past three years. These incidents have often occurred at or near critical infrastructure, military installations and public venues. Most incidents are into bombing, spying and even more negative and dramatic in nature.

Regardless of whether the UAS operator was identified though, Droneshield can manage to take these UAS down with its counterdrone measures and equipment. Droneshield’s C-UAS products and services such as C-UAS prisons and C-UAS airports do have the C-UAS AI capability that ensures increased awareness and ability to identify potentially malicious UAS activity.

With the potential increase in the malicious use of UAS, drone companies have slowly developed counterdrones for firm protection. Airports, being one of the most crowded places have been suspected as one of the terrorists’ target. This is why Droneshield has developed its C-UAS airports to ensure public safety in large and crowded spaces such as this.

Another place that could become a possible target of these unmanned aircraft systems are prison cells. The presence of well-known or VIP convicts and many other useful and confidential information inside these prison cells call for Droneshield’s C-UAS prisons technology. The product has C-UAS AI feature that intelligently detects and takes down rogue drones while cutting off signals from its source.

Droneshield’s C-UAS can also be utilised in electronic warfare. Drones are not solely used for violence when applied to warfare or military operations. They can also be used to distribute vital supplies to military people.

Though drones have been maliciously used over the years, it is undeniable that these aircraft systems, manned or unmanned are also beneficial. What we at Droneshield can  do is to encourage all of our clients to remain vigilant to any potential threats caused by this emerging technology.
